You can create a safety data sheet (SDS) eBinder in Bridge Compliance.
OSHA requires practices to keep SDSs for all hazardous material used in the workplace. An up-to-date SDS eBinder makes this information easy to access in case of exposure, inspection, or emergency. This helps protect your team and ensure compliance.
Notes:
- This eBinder should be easily accessible to every employee at all times (not just emergencies) and should be kept up to date to meet OSHA requirements.
- You may already have a physical binder, but we recommend using an eBinder for easier access, organization, and updates. You should store SDSs for both current and previously used products here to maintain a complete and compliant record.
- Review your eBinder annually to ensure information is updated and relevant.
Time to complete this requirement: 15-30 minutes (depending on the number of products you add to your eBinder)
To follow a guided tour of this process, see OSHA Compliance Requirement: Create a Safety Data Sheet eBinder.
Instructions
- Select OSHA > Safety Data Sheets from the left menu.
- Click the Click to access your SDS database link.
You will be taken to your eBinder, where all your SDSs will be stored. - Click Menu in the upper left corner of the screen and select SDS Search to add a new Product/Safety Data Sheet.
- Start typing your product in the search bar.
A list of matching options will appear automatically.
Tip: The more detail you add, the more specific your search results will be. - Click on the specific product you’re looking for.
- Select the checkbox next to the product you want to add, then click the Add to eBinder button in the upper right corner of the screen.
If you see multiple versions of the same product, choose the one with the most recent revision date. - In the Add to eBinder pop-up:
Option 1: Select specific locations for this product.
If the product is available at multiple locations, check the box next to Corporate.
Option 2: Choose Skip to add it directly to your eBinder.
If it’s only available at one location, you can also choose Skip.
To view the SDSs you just added: Go back to your eBinder by clicking Menu, then select eBinder.
To view the SDS for a specific product: Click the icon next to its name to open the document.
Note: You can also print the SDS by clicking on the print icon located in the top-right corner of the screen.
If the SDS for a product isn’t available: You can request it by clicking Requests in the menu and filling out a short form. Once your requested SDS is ready, it will appear in your Queue, which you can also access from the menu.
