If your Ingenico terminal (card machine) is displaying "This lane closed", follow these steps to troubleshoot your device.
- Reboot the Ingenico.
- If Practice Management Bridge is open, close it.
- Wait for the Ingenico to display "This lane closed" again.
- Open and log in to Practice Management Bridge.
- Wait 30 seconds—the terminal status indicator dot should turn green, and the Ingenico should be ready to use.
If the Ingenico continues to display "This lane closed":
- Unplug the Ingenico's USB from the computer.
- Inspect the cord for damage.
- Plug the USB cord back into the PC (if available, try a different USB port).
- Make sure that the Ingenico is plugged into the back of the computer.
- Make sure that you are not using a USB hub.
- Wait until the Ingenico displays "This lane closed" again.
- Open and log in to Practice Management Bridge.
- Wait 30 seconds—the terminal status indicator dot should turn green, and the Ingenico should be ready to use.
If the Ingenico continues to display "This lane closed":
- Make sure that your Windows computer is up to date by selecting the start menu > Settings icon > Update & Security > Check for Updates and downloading and installing any available updates.
- Restart your computer, then open and log in to Practice Management Bridge.
- Wait 30 seconds—the terminal status indicator dot should turn green, and the Ingenico should be ready to use.
If the Ingenico continues to display "This lane closed":
- Close Practice Management Bridge.
- Clear cache and cookies for the browser.
- Open and log in to Practice Management Bridge.
- Wait 30 seconds—the terminal status indicator dot should turn green, and the Ingenico should be ready to use.
If the Ingenico continues to display "This lane closed":
- On your computer, press the Windows key and search for the Services app.
- Right-click and select Run as Administrator.
- Scroll to find Practice Management Bridge in the list of services and right-click.
- Select Properties.
- Click the Recovery tab.
- Change all three of the following drop-downs to Restart Service:
- First Failure
- Second Failure
- Subsequent Failures
- Click Apply, then OK.
- Restart the Practice Management Bridge Agent Service.
- Close the Services app.
- Close Practice Management Bridge.
- Open and log in to Practice Management Bridge.
- Wait 30 seconds—the terminal status indicator dot should turn green, and the Ingenico should be ready to use.
