About the Terminal Connector Indicator

As the card reader connects to the Bridge Payments browser session, the Terminal connector indicator dot in the upper right corner of the screen changes color. Hover over the Terminal connector indicator dot for more information.

  • Gray: The Rectangle Health Windows Agent (Windows service) is not running or is not installed.
See Troubleshooting: Rectangle Health Windows Agent Not Installed or Running (Gray Dot) for more information on how to resolve this.
  • Orange: Bridge Payments is unable to communicate with the Rectangle Health Windows Agent, which is the software that connects to a card reader. You can still process card-not-present payments using the Payments screen. If you use a card swipe device like the Magtek, or if you do not use a card reader, this is the expected status.
See Troubleshooting: Card Reader Disconnected (Orange Dot) for more information on how to resolve this.
  • Green: Confirms connection to an Ingenico card reader.
  • Red: Bridge Payments is searching for an active installation of the Rectangle Health Windows Agent on your computer. The red color will not be consistent and will change to either orange or gray after a few seconds depending on if Bridge Payments finds a Rectangle Health Windows Agent installation or not.

Checking the Card Reader

When the system is ready to take payments, the card reader screen will show specific wording. This wording varies depending on the card reader and whether the card reader has received a card reader screen update.

  • Lane7000 Card Readers
Received the card reader screen update: The card reader screen will display TAP, INSERT, OR SWIPE CARD.
Has not yet received the card reader screen update: The card reader screen will display Insert, Swipe, or Tap Card.
  • iSC250 Card Readers
The card reader screen will display Insert, Swipe, or Tap Card.
